Other tidbits: This takes place in 1964-ish, when abortion was illegal in pretty much all of Europe. The UK would not legalize abortion until 1967; most of Western Europe would not follow until the 1970s. Belgium didn't legalize until 1990. As with the US, the rich could go get abortions in a hospital or doctor's office if they bribed a doctor willing to do the procedure. The middle class and poor, however... Well, there is a reason that abortion should be kept legal. Legal abortion really is one of the safest procedures out there. Any anti-choice comments will be promptly met with eye rolls or deleted as spam if possible. It doesn't matter if you think abortion is wrong. Unless you're getting an abortion yourself, it's not any of your beeswax about whether someone else whose name you most likely don't even know is getting one for their own reason.

My headcanon in the AU is that Tintin and Spirou are friends but they were eventually separated for decades after a really traumatizing and confusing event. They rarely see each other nowadays but remain in good terms with each other; they just focus more on their personal lives and friendships with humans to feel "alive." Oh yeah and I looked up wire fox terriers and the first ones appeared in the late eighteenth century. This takes place in the early 1800s so little Snowies would exist by then. Other tidbits: I'm so sad there's not much Rainbow Boy fic. Granted, it's a superhero AU that a few friends and I did but I just love the idea of sweet Chang kicking butt with the power of rainbows, love, the weather or however. I originally pictured Chang as first transforming with a locket, so I decided to make it more significant here. Chang's life at this point would be a puzzle, as he doesn't even know why he became a magical boy in the first place; the locket is the first clue. This would be early into the story before Tintin joined him or that they found out about other superheroes, assuming that this was a real series of course LOL Other prompts this piece could work with are communication and mythology.

Apparently in Chinese mythology the earliest sign for "rainbow," which is also the one used in Japanese kanji and Rainbow Boy's name, originally resembled a double headed dragon: one head for each side of the rainbow. Further, there are tales of dragons falling to the ground in China to die. The most recent accounts I know of are in early WWII China. Dragons symbolize good fortune in China and seeing one is considered so as well.

Anyway, I recently realized that in the flood that took place in "Blue Lotus" that Chang lost everything in the disaster, and that got the ball rolling for this fic.

This is the latest in the "Sherman being Spirou and Tintin's long lost son" series I've been working on.  It's Sherman's "birthday" today so I thought it'd be nice to whip out a short fic about their actual reunion and continue on in another, separate story.

I selected "Pixie Boys of the 1950s" from this round's title prompt list because all three characters existed in the 1950s (Tintin and Spirou going into their second decade of existence, and Sherman just beginning in the late 1950s). All three are at times quite naughty little pixie like characters too, so it fits. The "Comeback Tour" should be obvious for anyone that's been reading the other installments, considering this is the part of the story where the three get together as a "family" for the first time in seven years in the headcanon canon.

The only other mpreg thing I wrote was a parody.  But the idea of two adorable Belgian redheads having a baby together was too cute to resist. I have not seen the Peabody movie yet so when this goes on my journal and/or elsewhere I'll edit it whenever I see the movie if it deviates enough from the actual material.

I don’t do this often, but the title has an obscure reference/allusion I feel needs explaining to fully understand it. Ishi was the name of an Indian that was the last of his kind when he was discovered in 20^th century California. No one could understand him and he ultimately died lonely and feeling unloved. Granted, the yeti doesn’t die at the end of the album but he’s torn nonetheless at losing Chang, the one person that seemingly understands him. Poor guy was warm and caring to someone for once and had his one chance at happiness snatched away from him (in his POV).
