Podficcer's notes: I picked this for the 'End of the world' prompt because it and the whole episode it's set in is a slide to inevitable doom for Will and Hannibal's relationship. Will has an impossible choice and Hannibal's victory has become a defeat whatever Will chooses, so neither of them can have what they want. And that's before we get to the bloodbath. The music at the start and end is from Bach's cello suite no.3 in C.
Summary: They finished dinner with a quiet tension sizzling in the air. Hannibal cleared the table and they retired to the study to drink glass after glass of sweet wine that stained their lips and left their heads light and buzzing with static.
