Guardian: picspam: A Dog's Den

  • Apr. 13th, 2019 at 10:23 PM
title: A Dog's Den (Zhao Yunlan's home)
fandom: Guardian
type: picspam

Note: In the novel, Zhao Yunlan's home is described as a dog's lair, which I believe is similar to the English phrase "a pigsty." I refuse to refer to it as a man-cave even for the sake of the prompt, but it's definitely a bachelor pad!

For the purposes of spatial discussions, I am designating the wall with the front door as NORTH.

Guardian: fanfic: his heart's own north

  • Mar. 25th, 2019 at 11:36 PM
Title: his heart's own north
Fandom: Guardian
Pairing: Zhao Yunlan/Shen Wei
Words: ~2,700
Content notes: brief unwelcome physical contact with a stranger; Zhao Yunlan's commitment to his inner Sam Spade, Shen Wei's creepy stalking, Zhao Yunlan's poor boundaries, public displays of affection, intense feelings about feelings
Timing notes: Takes place between episodes 2 and 3.

Author's note: This is the 2,700 word intro to what was supposed to be a PWP. *sigh* There's a decent stopping point and I'm taking it -- I just don't think I'll have time to write and edit another 4,000 words before the end of this round -- but I am (for once) actually writing Part 2.

Summary: It’s not the first time Zhao Yunlan’s run into someone he’d slept with and failed to recognize them. The speculative looks and the lingering touches, those were familiar. And it made sense of that nagging feeling he had, that he’d met Shen Wei before.

Guardian: fanfic: what hand, what eye

  • Mar. 9th, 2019 at 9:40 PM
Title: what hand, what eye
Fandom: Guardian
Pairing: Zhao Yunlan/Shen Wei
Words: ~1,500
Content notes: ink-brush writing-on-skin, intimacy, partial nudity, lots of secrets and yearning.
Timing notes: in my nebulous hand-waviness, this is set some time after Episode 11 but definitely before Episode 20. I've only reached Episode 25, so I may be making some assumptions here that don't hold up -- you've been warned!

Many thanks to [personal profile] china_shop and [personal profile] mekare for inspiration and cheerleading!

Summary: When Shen Wei suggested this, it had sounded like a lark -- a chance to scrawl crude obscenities across his lover's naked back before smearing them to unreadability with his own skin.

Guardian: fanart: proof of mercy

  • Mar. 2nd, 2019 at 11:33 PM
title: proof of mercy
fandom: Guardian
contents: let's call it a spoiler for Ep. 3, just to be safe

note: I made an icon of this image, but think it looks kinda busy. So I went back and re-created it in a much simpler style as a full-sized art piece. I'm much happier with this one! If you don't think I showed enough restraint to count for the prompt, please join me in staring at Shen Wei's sleeve garters.

Also for the bingo square: Witness

Title: I am but the sea
Fandom: Guardian
Words: ~500
Content notes: Shen Wei character study, with extra pining! Set during Episode 1 but includes references from at least one later episode.

Please note that I'm only on episode #18 and haven't finished the series yet. (Is there a word for 'this story may already be jossed and I just don't know it yet'?)

Summary: Shen Wei knows he is a fool, but he yearns now to pore over these 'pointless' details: to imagine every moment of Zhao Yunlan's life leading up to their meeting.

Guardian: fanfic: The Cat is a Liar

  • Feb. 17th, 2019 at 9:14 PM
Title: The Cat is a Liar
Fandom: Guardian
Words: ~500
Content notes: flashfic, abrupt ending, pining; takes place more or less during Episode 11

Summary: "Either get over him or go talk to him; doesn't matter to me which," Da Qing says. "But you've got to take better care of me."

Notes: I am incredibly nervous about this one. It was supposed to be a drabble but got away from me; it really ought to have another thousand words, but I don't have the time to write it before the end of this round. And I'm still figuring out how names go in this fandom... So.

Also for the prompt: The Lost Hour on my bingo card. Also also, the title comes from a recent social media post about cats who howl to be let into places they don't actually live.

no spoilers

title: your first mistake
fandom: Shivers (1995 video game)
word count: 150
contents: second person; no spoilers beyond the opening movie (and I took some poetic license with that)

Note: I loved this game so much! But I haven't played it in years, and was just reminded by finding some old game CDs. Now if I can just find this one and make it work on my laptop... oh, and this also fills the Haunted square on my bingo card :D

Ghosts aren't real! )
title: looking back
fandom: Runaways (tv)
prompts: Reflect and Disaster
word count: 100
Content notes: spoilers through the end of Season 1; dysfunctional family dynamics

It took years for Chase to finally understand his mother. )
Title: grace in these hard times
Fandom: MCU
Pairing: Tony Stark/Pepper Potts
Contents: References to PTSD

Summary: "Hey, Pep. I was thinking maybe we'd fly back to Malibu tonight." He hadn’t been, not until right that moment, but the idea fills him with longing even as it tumbles out of his mouth.

Note: this is the third part in a series that went AU at the end of The Avengers, and probably won't make any sense at all unless you read them first. Takes place shortly after hope is the thing.

Title: Resurrection
Word length: 100

Content notes: Takes place during a significant event in Safely You Deliver, but I doubt it would make any sense if you haven't read the book. I tried my hand at writing in the more arcane style that some of the Independents speak in, rather than the author's style for the books, so it might not make any sense anyway.

Summary: The Independent Crane remembers an extraordinary event.
