Title: Old Friends, On Demand: A C6D Rec Set

Rec-er Notes: I thought I'd try my hand at a themed rec-set for the Old Friends challenge.  None of these stories is particularly recently-written, though they're not quite the "old friends" of argentum_ls's recent rec set, and I'm so new to fandom that my "old favorites" are not very old to me, though many of them were written in days gone by.  Anyway, this set was compiled not based on the age of the stories, but rather, because all of them have old friends as a major theme/focus of the story.  In addition, each of them was chosen to meet a particular need that I have expressed in conversation recently (or, in the case of the third fic, met a previously-unknown need of mine when I originally read it).

Title: We're the Lucky Ones, We're the Stars (a two-part series, comprised of We're the Lucky Ones, We're the Stars and Spread Your Wings)

Length: The first story is ~4000 words, the second is ~8300.
Reccer's note: Post-canon AU in which there is one small change to the events of canon, which allows for redemption and a very plausible-feeling eventually-happy ending.  The first story is from Billy's POV; the second is Joe's POV covering the same span of time.  If you're looking for a story that feels very true to the characters of the movie, yet brings them to a much better place than the movie does, look no further.

Reccer's note: Geoffrey and Darren in college, putting on Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.  I have a soft spot for the play, and Petra does a wonderful job of a) writing an interesting story about people putting on this show and b) writing very believably about Geoffrey and Darren, specifically, putting on this show.  If that doesn't sound utterly delightful to you already, there's probably nothing I can say to convince you.  Except that this is likely one of those stories that's well-written enough to appeal even to a reader who doesn't know much about the specific subject matter.
