Sister Camila held those two unassuming movie tickets as she would a rosary or two candles she'd leave at an altar — they symbolised hope, faith, inviting light back in after the slaughter of their sisters.

She needed it, as that Yasmine seemed to, as Mother surely did despite her attempts to hide it. Ava and Beatrice would not bring the others back but they would be near and scare that menacing loneliness away.

Without being noticed, Camila gave the envelope where she hid the tickets a little kiss.

She prayed they could soon be sent to Mary and Lilith too...

It was standard OCS material, a dark envelope like all others — like the one used at the flower shop.

This one was empty, of course. The tickets were long gone, the cinema burned down... Mary was dead. Lilith was gone. Beatrice had left. Ava had disappeared into the ark.

Camila looked around her. She shouldn't be ungrateful.

She wished they could simply be together again, even watch that film and hear her laugh at the same scenes she always loved.
