Summary: Oh rail at fate, thou Children of the One - a sonnet

Oh rail at fate, thou Children of the One,
Address thy prayers to Ilmen or the West
Where no ear will hear, nor heart be wrung.
We shall cry out in anger without rest;
To exile we are sent, cast out, and yet
No boat, no wing, no passage given East.
Still on Ennorë our hearts are firmly set
We shall cry out in anger for release.
Make walls of the Pelóri; fence us out.
Through darkness we will bend our footsteps North
Assay the Ice, the ocean with no doubt,
Though we cry out in anger going forth
      For wider lands, but most to fight the Foe
      In fury to Beleriand we go
