Rachel folded her arms over her chest, waiting. When nothing happened for several prolonged seconds, she kicked the cubicle just enough to make it shake - she wasn't going to ruin a perfectly good pair of shoes on a cheap fabric half-wall.

Still nothing. She frowned, mouth squishing to one side. She said his name at normal volume.

No change. His eyes seemed glued to the monitor in front of him.

His phone, sitting on the desk, dinged, the screen lighting up with the incoming message. Still nothing.

"Mike!" she snapped a few ticks louder.

The guy jerked to attention so hard he nearly fell out of his chair. "I'm busy."

"Really?" Rachel asked. "Because it looked a lot like sleeping with your eyes open."

"Huh? No, just really zoned in."

"On sleeping."

Mike frowned. "Don't you have your own work to do?"

"It's eight-thirty, Mike."

He looked around like he just noticed there was no one else there. "So - why are you still here?"

She waggled her phone in the air. "Left my phone in my desk. Came back for it. Saw you zoned out in here, didn't think you wanted to spend the night. If I'm wrong, I'll leave you here." She turned and started out of the bullpen.

Mike nearly dumped his chair over getting up. "Wait - no, I'm leaving. Hold up, Rachel!"
