Title: 3 Recs - Multifandom (due South/Highlander, The Flash, Highlander/Forever Knight/Quantum Leap/X-Files/Starman)
Notes: The stories recced here are "old friends." The oldest was posted in 1995 and the newest in 1999, and they're all stories that I've read time and again and have found myself returning to over the years when I can't find new stories to read, despite the fact that I've otherwise left all the fandoms behind.

Title: The One That Got Away
Author: Kellie Matthews and Julie Kostaka
Word Count: ~50,000
Fandom: due South / Highlander: the Series
Rating: MA (M/M/F)

Reason for Rec: This is the first story in the six story Fishing Series (stories 2-6 are RayK stories), and I love the whole thing so much that I formatted them, printed them out, and had them bound so I could re-read them where/whenever. Each story has a standalone plot and incorporates adult material. The authors nail the character voices and interactions, develop the characters across the stories, and write the best (IMO) kind of crossover where the "normal" characters have to earn the secrets of the supernatural characters and aren't instantly accepting of them. The porn isn't shabby, either.

Title: Two of a Kind
Author: Mandolin
Word Count: 9300
Fandom: The Flash (TV)
Rating: PG

Reason for Rec: This story hits one of my favorite tropes really hard: a character developing superpowers. As the summary says, it's a future!fic set twenty years after the show's run and centered on a second generation (OC) character. The author really demonstrates the challenges of being superfast and the confusion of developing powers well, and though I've never been in The Flash fandom, this story was the first one I bookmarked when I finally got an AO3 account.

Title: The Witness
Author: Michele Martin
Word Count: ~70K
Fandom: Highlander / Forever Knight / X-Files / Starman / Quantum Leap
Rating: PG-13 (IIRC)
Summary: Scott Hayden witnesses a dual between two Immortals. From there it gets really complicated.

It also cemented my love for crossovers and set the bar for what I want in a crossover. To this day, I'm still amazed that the author was able to write a five way crossover that includes (and keeps track of) all the major characters from each show, has a compelling and well-developed plot, and makes sense.
