Eliot stood at the window trying to ignore the dull ache in his chest. It was a hollow, empty feeling - a longing of sorts - for different choices and cleaner hands.

Alec moved up behind him, dragging Eliot's attention back to the present moment. Alec's movements were slow and careful, so as not to spook him. Eliot leaned back and let himself relax as strong arms wrapped around him. Glancing over to where Parker still slept, he sighed. If he'd made different choices this wouldn't be his life, and for the first time in a long while, he liked his life.
