Summary: Hope is always the first to be accused after an incident. This time, she has an alibi. But she can't share it.


They always accuse you. Like heat-seeking missiles, their fingers point the blame at you. Someone took a US Soccer van without permission and drunkenly crashed it into a lamppost. Of course, they immediately think it was you. You did, after all, let Jerramy drive one of the vans while drunk before. It wasn't one of your better moments. This time, though, wasn't you. You were with Kelley: in your room, between your sheets, getting to know her better. How her body feels against yours; the taste of her freckles.

You two come together again and again. The newest member of your backline fits so perfectly with you, yet you don't know how to live so comfortably. Your sharp edges scrape unfailingly against the nearest surface, leaving messy, open wounds behind. You don't want to hurt Kelley, but you can't keep your distance.

But you can't tell them that, can you?
