Summary: Feeling confused by what Kathryn was telling him about a timeline he didn’t remember. Chakotay admitted, “I don’t remember having a watch.”

Chakotay watched as Kathryn gently ran her fingertips along the intricate pattern on the casing of the pocket watch he had given her as a birthday gift.

“During the Kremin timeline when Voyager was crippled from numerous battles and all our resources were severely depleted, me and Neelix walked the remaining decks when we were in what was left of your quarters I found the watch.” she stopped her ministrations for a moment to show him.

Feeling confused by what Kathryn was telling him about a timeline he didn’t remember. Chakotay admitted, “I don’t remember having a watch.”

Kathryn felt her heart breaking a little at his admission. “It was a birthday gift for me. I couldn’t accept it while we were under constant attack, I ordered you to recycle it. You didn’t.”

“Are you going to wear it?” he asked, hopeful that she would agree to wear it at the various crew functions that Neelix often set up in an effort to boost morale.

Kathryn shook her head. “No I’m not. It’s too precious but what I am going to do...” she paused to thread a piece of blue ribbon through one of the links. “...is hang it on one of the bulkheads where I can admire it.”

Chakotay waited a moment to see if she’d move to hang it while he was there. “I’m surprised that it survived.”
