It's a funny thing — the singular strand of silver hair. Q likes to think of it as a symbol of his ever-worn patience. A clear sign that someday he will, in fact, snap.

Or explode, should he suffer the same fate as his predecessor.

Q likes to keep his place neat, obsessively so. His cats don't shed, he makes sure to be rid of anything noticeable and he always, always cleans up after himself.

Which just leaves him with the accidents, the carelessness, the lack of attention.
