Summary:
Study the sky, the air, the sea

Study the sky, the air, the sea,
Contemplate the grains of sand --
What are they made of?
What kind of glass, or glaze or
building material will it make
What shells and sea-creatures
Have played a part in making it?
The long, slow grind of wave and rock
Heat and chill, rain and drouth.

Study the stars, the Moon and Sun
Both science and story, mystery and myth
Learn how crystal shaped just so,
Polished like a gem, precisely set
Shows wonders great and small
Near and far and faint.
Collect light in a mirror
Explore the deeps of night.
