Title: the present now
Fandom: Control
Rating: General Audiences
Length: 80
Author's note: flashfic
Summary: Jesse doesn't know what she was expecting. Not this.

Even two steps inside the door, the building's emptiness echoes. The lights are on, doors open - obviously, although Jesse would have taken a brick to the fancy glass plate, if she'd had to.

You know I'd do more than break a few windows for you if I had to.

- but of people there isn’t a hint. Just lights, and silence, and the hum of machinery on standby.

Jesse was expecting … more. Something other than an empty office.
