Title: Contact
Fandom: Gundam Wing
Rating: G
Length: 139
Notes: 1x2x3x4x5 (Duo-centric)
Summary: They find themselves together again, in not so pleasant circumstances.

When Duo’s thrown in the back of the truck, he’s only half-surprised to recognize the silhouettes of his companions in misery. Oz has never been subtle; but they have certainly improved if they’re able to capture them all.

The guy who dragged him here waves his gun and barks at him to sit down.

He does - plumps down right in the middle of the bench on the right, pretends he’s out of it and not even watching what he’s doing. The guy loses interest in him and starts talking with the other Ex-Ozzies as the truck starts up.

Duo nuzzles against Heero’s neck and his hand easily finds Wufei’s, holding him.
On the other bench, Trowa stretches his legs just a little - just enough for their ankles to touch. Quatre just smiles.

There are worse ways to meet again.

Title: Touchdown
Fandom: Gundam Wing
Rating: G
Length: 311
Notes: 1x2x3x4x5 (Duo-centric)
Summary: This is not how Duo planned it (a sequel to Contact)

Oz may have improved, but they still underestimate them. Or - and Duo has an inkling that it’s probably the truth - the other pilots used the situation to provoke the reunion.

It’s taken all of five minutes to take control of the vehicle, incapacitate the abductors, and make off with the truck. Not a scream, not a shot, just the way Duo likes it.

He would have disappeared in those five minutes too if Trowa hadn’t been his ever vigilant (incredibly annoying) self.

Fine.
He’ll make the pit stop.

Trowa’s watching him. Heero’s driving, Quatre is sleeping in Wufei’s arms, and Duo settles against the blond’s back and pretends to sleep too. Pretends the years he spent running away while the other pilots were coming together never existed. Pretends every time he stopped by, he stayed.

Pretends they didn’t really want him to.

Trowa is still watching him. As the sun rises above the horizon, Duo gives up and just stares back at him.

Trowa wears his ever present, barely noticeable smile. That might just be the most infuriating thing.

The morning light illuminates the inside of the truck, washing them in yellow and pink. All of a sudden he notices the drain on that smile, Heero’s tense shoulders, the way both Quatre and Wufei lean on him while making sure he won’t notice.

It reeks of fear and yearning
- a reflection of his feelings. The realization staggers him.

Duo’s good at pretending.
But maybe he’s tired of pretending this achingly familiar comfort doesn’t matter to him, that he doesn’t long to melt in their arms and let himself drown in their warmth, that the damage he causes them is for their own good and doesn’t hurt him, that it’s too late for make amends for lost time and broken promises.

He reaches for Trowa’s steady hand, and lets them anchor him.
