"What -- What the heck did ya do that to my hat for?!" JD cried, rushing to save the remains of his cherished bowler hat that had been with him for years before the trek out here to the West. "What did you do?!" he demanded, eyeing the giant hole in the center of its crown.

His girlfriend flashed fierce daggers at him. She started to open her mouth to yell, scream, and cuss, but instead she changed her tone completely. Dropping her natural voice to a husky, feminine cry, she exclaimed, "Oh, but you look just like Mistah Bat Masterson! 'I assure you, ma'am, it's just a coincidence.'"

"You heard that, huh?" JD asked. The glower she shot him made him grimace, and as she stomped onto his hat, crushing it firmly beneath her boots, he was suddenly quite glad it was his hat receiving the punishment and not himself. He nervously scratched the back of his head. "I, hum, I'm sorry?"

Casey's face turned darker, filling with even more fury, something JD wouldn't have thought possible. She snatched up his bowler and started hitting him with it. "MAYBE IF I WORE MORE PETTICOATS, YOU'D LIKE ME BETTER!"

"That's not it at all!" JD exclaimed, ducking and yelping as she struck him increasingly harder.

"Then what the Hell is it?!"

"I -- I -- I'm an idiot?" he squeaked as she slapped him in the groin with his own hat.

She finally stopped attacking him and just glowered at him for a minute. "Ya darn tootin' ya are!" He warily watched as she stalked off. He slowly shook his head and started carefully picking up his hat's remains, hoping he could later pick up the pieces of their relationship. He'd never understand why Buck thought women were beautiful when they were mad!
