I always like Jessie-centric fics, and I really don't think there are enough of them/would like to see more AUs where the other members of Avalanche survive... I really like how the calculating way Jessie's looking at her remaining time in seconds - and I kind of like that she doesn't want to ask for help as that then risks someone else dying; either Barret, Cloud or both. Nice details too like the reactor effectively cleared or personnel who ran out as soon as the alarm went off - as they planned for - Avalanche never did intend to kill anyone after-all.

And this does really feel like it could have lead into a Cloud/Jessie situation had the plot not intervened, or else I like the idea that Jessie really feels she owes Cloud after the reactor but can only think of those little things to do at first. And its a great illustration - even as Cloud pretends to care nothing for Avalanche and their mission he did go out of his way to help Jessie on fleeing the reactor...
