Summary: Nyssa comes to terms with Sara's choice to leave her and apologizes to Sara's mother for kidnapping her.

Nyssa watches Dinah Lance from the rooftop of a building across the street from the woman’s apartment. Through a window with a clear line of sight, she could see the woman enter the apartment and freeze when she caught sight of something that was not present when she had left that morning. On the table in the living room sat a bouquet of purple hyacinths. Nyssa keeps her gaze locked on Ms. Lance as the expression on the woman’s face changed from shocked to confusion and then settled on fear. She was not surprised to see that reaction, but she wished she had not been the cause of it. She truly regrets kidnapping her Beloved’s mother.

Nyssa had not wanted to hurt anyone her Beloved cared about because that would undeniably hurt Sara as well. She loves Sara and wishes that their life had not torn Sara from her, but her Beloved was not born in the League. Sara was raised by the Lances, a family who was always saving the world. Her soul could not withstand a life of killing, not like her own could. Nyssa was the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul and Heir to the Demon. She was born to be an assassin and trained to take her father’s place as the next Demon’s Head. She is a villain that Sara could not wholeheartedly love. But Sara is still her Beloved, and she would do anything to make her happy. Even releasing her from the League. Her little bird deserves to fly.

Nyssa did not expect Ms. Lance to understand her apology. She does not usually make mistakes and, thus, has no need to apologize. Nevertheless, she left no evidence that could trace the flowers back to her. She believes the woman will throw them in the trash instead. However, she is pleasantly surprised when Ms. Lance turns from the trashcan, flowers still in hand, and places them back on the table with a small, grateful smile on her face.
