Title: Who Tells the Story
Fandom: Lord of the Rings
Rating: G
Length: 100
Content notes: N/A
Author notes: Thanks go to Both Tolkien and Lin Manuel Miranda, tellers extraordinaire.
Summary: Chronicle, not diary

The Book of Mazarbul was not a diary, for all that Ori recorded personal observations along with events, described textures and colors, intonations and gestures as well as the names of the Company of Lord Balin, son of Fundin, the words of the speeches and proclamations, the deeds of skill and bravery, the works of art and service done on the journey to the halls of their fathers, the retaking of those halls from the vermin that infested them, the slow rebuilding. It was a chronicle, meant for History’s eyes, the long view. Not his words alone: written for all.
