She's sunning in the bathroom window
Purring like she'd hum a tune.
Then to her scratching post she wanders
Hope she'll use her litter soon.

Didn't anybody feed her?
She's got hairballs, did you see?
Sunday we ran out of friskies
Tuesday night she hissed at me

She said she'd always been a mouser
She could get 15 rats a day
And she brought kills to the house, for 
Me to praise her skill with prey.

And so I quit the pet department
Because my cat's a steady job
And though she's not orange, nor a tiger,
She likes to pounce as much as Hobbes.

Didn't anybody tell her?
She doesn't like to see me leave,
Sunday she slept in my suitcase 
Now my clothes all smell like pee.
