Challenge 88: Hot Water

  • Jul. 2nd, 2014 at 12:38 PM
Our new challenge is:

HOT WATER

As always, you can interpret the prompt literally or figuratively, in whatever way works for you and your preferred fandom and medium.

Each work created for this challenge should be posted as a new entry to the comm. Posting starts now and continues up until the challenge ends at 4pm PST on Thursday, July 10th. No sign-up required.

Mods will tag your work with fandom, media and challenge. When you've posted entries to three consecutive challenges, you will earn a name tag, and we'll go back and tag all your previous entries with your name.

All kinds of fanworks in all fandoms are welcome. Please have a look at our guidelines before you play. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact a mod. And if you have any suggestions for future challenges, you can leave them in the comments of this post.

NEWS

We're thinking of introducing a support comm for [livejournal.com profile] fan_flashworks.

The plan: [community profile] ffw_social will be a locked comm where people can discuss the challenge prompt, brainstorm fanwork ideas, grumble about creativity blocks, share inspiration and cheer each other on. To start with, we'll run this on Dreamwidth only. If there's demand later on and we can find enough mods, we'll expand to LiveJournal too.

But first we need to know if there's enough interest.

I'd definitely participate in such a comm if it were on LJ, but I'm not that keen on DW - I take it an account there would be indispensable to be part of the comm? :/

From the Dreamwidth FAQ description of OpenID, it looks like you should be able to participate without getting a DW account, but we'll have to test that to be sure. *crosses fingers*

The platform issue is a tricky one, and I know it's not fair of us to choose one over the other. We're just not able to commit to running ffw_social across both platforms until we have a better idea of how much work is involved. Sorry!

I am being proactive and testing if OpenID will work! I've just joined the social comm, though (if I read it right) you'll have to approve me as a member.

I understand not wanting to commit to both platforms right away :)

I expect you'll see it there, but yes! It seems to work just fine :)
