Summary: Sometimes even the weather can inspire creativity
A/N: This is me, STILL thinking about an AU I want to write. Any Feedback and concrit would be delightfully helpful!

The cold ice freezes his fingertips as he chips away, forming it to the shape he wants before arranging it into the ever-growing sculpture in front of him.

He breathes into his hands to warm them, berating himself that he lost his mitts on the way to the park - today of all days - the coldest of the year. But it was also the perfect day to assemble this creation; the images of it had been bouncing around his head for days. Last week had been warmer and wet, and as the cars sprayed the slush about, the ice formations on lamp posts and forgotten bicycles had captivated Justin. He has been sketching for days, but pencil and paper couldn't quite capture the dynamic shapes in his head.

On his walk to get some much needed coffee, he noticed the sheets of ice that littered the path in the depressions that held what was once melted snow. It cracked under his feet and pushed up, the raw edges and the glint of sunshine off the shards immediately caught his attention.

The coffee now long forgotten, he places the final piece and steps back to take it all in. He loves it. It's everything he wanted to be: dynamic, gravity defying, temporal, and beautiful.

He snaps some photos of it, happy with the play of light across the surfaces and through the ice itself. He hopes the printed photos, at larger than life scale, can really represent what he created.

He almost regrets that its existence is so fragile, that he has to leave it behind.

In the end he does, seeking out that coffee to soothe the cold that has seeped into his bones.
