Summary: Abby asks Marshall to write New Years Resolutions, but it doesn't go quite as planned.

Marshall stared at the blank piece of paper on the desk in front of him. Abby had had the brilliant idea that they should write New Year’s resolutions, and goals, this year, and he hadn't done it yet. He was staying at the office late under the guise of having more paper work to do, trying to avoid her. He looked out his office window to his former desk. It was still empty. Sighing he wrote the first thing on his list.

1.       Find Mary a new partner (one she won’t eat alive)

He chuckled. Mary had been partnered with a plethora of temporary marshals since he’d been promoted, but none of them had lasted longer than a month. For the most part this was just their first step on a Witsec journey, but at least one of them Marshall had hoped would work out.

He looked out the window again and saw Mary, sitting at her desk doing her won paper work. She’d been staying late a lot more than she used to. Before he could change his mind he wrote his next goal for the new year

2.       Find someone for Mary (that she won’t scare off)

She had dated the single dad for a few months, but nothing had come of it. And with Marshall spending less time with her, she really needed something fun to fill up her time. She needed a break from being a mom and sister.
Speaking of taking a break.

3.       Take all vacation days

He needed to spend more time away from the office himself. He looked down at the paper and quickly jotted down a few more goals.

4.       Spend more time with Mary
5.       Spend more time with Norah
6.       Do more target practice with Mary
7.       Get over feelings for Mary
8.       Move on with life with Abby

He looked down at the paper in front of him. This was NOT what Abby had in mind, he was sure of it. Crinkling the paper up in a ball, he tossed it in the trashcan next to his desk. He pulled out a clean sheet of paper and started again.

1.       Spend an hour at the gym a week
2.       Spend less time at the office
3.       Target practice once a week

Three. Three things that he was pretty sure he could stick with and that wouldn’t make Abby mad. He sighed. This year had to be better than the last.
