Merlin was the servant, technically it was his job to take care of others, packing winter cloaks and extra food for their journeys, but everyone had their own role. Leon's knowledge of the land and its people made any task easier while Gwaine kept their spirits up with his jokes and stories. Percival's solid presence supported one and all along with Elyan and Lancelot's steady swords. Arthur, of course, was their leader, their shining beacon no matter how dark the night.

They worked together flawlessly, slotting into each others' lives, fulfilling needs they hadn't known existed until they'd come together.
