I'm glad you liked the picture. :) I used GIMP for most of it, so first I sketched it out, then took a photo of the sketch. I opened the picture of the sketch in GIMP, added a blank 2nd layer and put that under the sketch. I used a layer mask to cut out the triforce from the top/sketch layer to show the bottom layer, then colored the top layer black, and painted the bottom layer tan, white, red and orange using a large soft edged brush. Then I merged the two layers and used smudge to smear the edges of the wings out.

I'm sorry, I have no idea if that makes any sense at all.

It does make sense, actually. I've never used those kinds of programs, but I know people who do. I'm continuously amazed at the beautiful art people can make using computer software.
