When he was discharged from Sophie Miller’s clinic Jane packed away all his belongings; his Malibu home is now empty, except for the mattress in his old room and Charlotte’s tricycle in the hall.
There are no pictures on the walls anymore, the only reminder of his family being the smiling face painted in their own blood.
He doesn’t need pictures to remember his wife and child; their features are permanently engraved in his memory palace, along with their butchered bodies in the half-light of a bedside lamp.
His daughter was the light of his life, and now she’s gone.
