Title: The Fire Within
Fandom: Elementary
Character: Sherlock
Rating: PG-15
Length: 100 words
Challenge: Silver Lining
Notes: Mention to drug use.
Summary: For him, there would never be a silver lining.

Irene’s face burned in his brain, as if someone had just tattooed it there.
Tears ran down his face, burning his cheeks like acid.
The liquid on the syringe burned his veins in the most pleasant way, setting the fire from inside.
He just wished it would go away, all that unbearable pain. Why did he have to lose her so violently? The one woman he was ever able to fall in love with. He was certain he would never love again. How could he? She… was perfection.
Certainly, there was no silver lining for him. There would never be.
