Summary: The Doctor disliked travelling alone.



The Doctor did not like travelling without a companion. There was something about the TARDIS when he was alone in her for too long that felt wrong and slightly unsettling. Noises echoed louder than should be possible, smells of distant lands wafted through her halls and shadows loomed in places where light never fell.

A madman in a box he may indeed be but, he thought as he plotted his next course, while the line between mad and insane was a fine one, it was one he had no wish to cross.

The time had come to meet someone new.
