Summary: Tifa and Cloud at the Gold Saucer's gondolas.

Tifa thought she was very, very lucky when she managed to find Cloud alone, quietly sneaking away from their room at that strange haunted hotel. And he agreed with going with her to the gondolas, she thought she was even luckier.

“Wow.” She said. “How pretty.”

The gondolas did the entire tour of Gold Saucer, showing all the colourful craziness of the amazing town.

“The chocobos are having a race.” She smiled. “I think the black one is going to win.”

Cloud remained quiet the whole time, but she, as his childhood friend, knew it was only the way he was, even though he had been acting kind of weird lately.

He thinks he was there, and he forgot all about Zack. Tifa felt sorry for him. Shinra seriously messed up with his mind.

The fireworks started.

“Look, Cloud!”

He finally looked outside, into the beautiful show in the sky. Gold Saucer was really quite amazing.

“… it’s really pretty, isn’t it?” Tifa asked, dreamily. She, then, took a deep breath, trying to summon all her courage. “Okay, I’m going to just go ahead and say it…”

“What?” Cloud asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Aerith would be able to just come out and say it, probably.”

He just kept staring at her with those eyes that once had been beautiful in their own natural green colour, but now were maculated with the mako’s phosphorescence.

“Cloud…? Sometimes being old friends is hard. I mean, timing is everything.”

“Yeah...” He answered, although it was only not to let her talking alone.

“Cloud…? I…”

But she wasn’t able to complete that sentence, since the gondola stopped suddenly. Feeling her cheeks burn, she got up and followed him out of it.

“You didn’t finish, Tifa.”

She looked at him and smiled, blushed.

“It’s okay. We have time.”

Or at least, she wished they had.
