Philadelphia: Fanfic: Ignorance

  • Aug. 13th, 2012 at 11:32 PM
Title: Ignorance
Fandoms: Philadelphia
Rating: G
Length: 107
Author's Notes: I watched the movie recently and was inspired to write this.
Summary: Andrew Beckett was just a normal person. Why couldn't people see that?
Warning: None.

The myth was a stupid one. People who passed him eyed him like he had a disease they didn’t want to catch—which, he had to admit he did have a disease, even though it couldn’t be spread by a handshake or even kissing. Yet, when people found out that he had AIDS, they crossed the street just to avoid him.

It was as if they could catch AIDS just from standing too close; it was as if they could catch being gay just by associating with him.

Andrew couldn’t help but be disgusted by their behaviour. And he couldn’t help but feel sorry for their ignorance.
