Summary: A little nudge, a little snowball, and a little friend.
Warning: None

She had done something else which made her panic instantly. Korra decided it was better to leave home than wait until he parents chastised her for doing something stupid. Again.

Sighing, she trudged through the snow with a backpack full of toys, while mumbling under her breath about the so-called friends who didn’t understand her. She mistakenly burned Oru and suddenly, she was the one person who wasn’t asked to go sledding with.

She was still calling her former friends colourful names when a snowball hit her in her face. Freezing, she looked up to see a boy, slightly older than her as he laughed, ducked and threw another snowball.

“Hey!” Korra cried in outrage as she wiped it off.

“Hey!” the boy cried happily in greeting. He skipped as if he was skipping on air, his orange clothes billowing around him.

“What’s that?” Korra asked distracted, pointing at the arrow on his bald head.

“Oh. That’s a tattoo.” He grinned mischievously. “Wanna play?” He didn’t wait for her reply. With power that surprised her, he made a gigantic snowball and threw it right at her.

“Hey!” Korra sputtered, as she finally got free of the damp snow. But the boy wasn’t there. She looked and squirmed and found only silence until… A whimper?

Crawling on her hands and knees, she followed the sound until she came across a white tail that easily hid itself in the white snow. Bending the water in the snow carefully, she released the creature, only to see a small polar bear dog shake its head and rid the snow from its face. Korra had never seen one so small before, and was instantly taken in by its big black eyes. The polar bear dog stared at her for a moment, sniffing the air as it moved towards her. Korra waited patiently as she watched the polar bear get closer until the tip of its cold nose touched hers. The moment made her giggle and the polar bear dog’s tail wagged happily.

Korra instantly pulled the pup into her arms to hug it tightly. She had a feeling that they would be friends for a very long time.

Aw, too cute! This piece captures the fanart nicely and adds its own depth. The way you wrote Korra's actions captures her stubborn and indignant attitude in the series. I especially liked the part where she thinks, "Oh, I only accidentally almost burned Oru, why doesn't anyone want to play with me anymore!"

At first little Korra seeing Aang threw me off. It didn't seem to fit, but eventually it made sense to me. It was like he was guiding her to Naga. Aang had a companion animal in Appa who'd helped him through his journey. Maybe he figured she should have someone to help her through hers in the same way.

Exactly what I was going for. I liked the idea of Aang helping Korra find her a companion.
