Once the curse was lifted, Emma’s gaze didn’t land on just anyone. If Henry had been right about the story, about the curse, then was he right about everything else?

Emma stayed still as Mary Margaret—Snow White—her mother—came towards her. They stood across from each other awkwardly before Mary Margaret smiled. “I think, maybe, you and I should go get breakfast.”

Emma nodded, daring herself not to feel the sudden hope that expanded her chest. She took a deep breath. “I’d like that.”

Mary Margaret’s smile widened. “Good. I’m sure we have a lot to talk about.”
