Summary: For someone surrounded by secret agents, he finds it surprisingly easy to hide.



He paints a self-portrait (but not with paints) and uses it to reconstruct himself (blending in the color he can't erase) so that people stop seeing him. It's safer that way. He has it down to an art-form. He sits in the cafeteria, with a slight smile on his lips (their eyes slide over him) and watches the chaos that swirls around him.

Hawkeye and Black Widow are his assets, not because they're unmanageable, but because some how Clint Barton managed to spot him (he's Hawkeye for a reason) and Natasha trusts her partner enough that she listens when he describes him (that still amuses Fury). 

Most of the other Avengers only see his suit (there's going to be a degree of shock the next time he has to put his field suit on) and he can tell his Hawk and his Spider are itching to lay him out for them, but he likes the self he's constructed (one more change to the self-portrait, but that one's going to be hard to hide) and he's only just forgiven Clint for telling Tash how to really see him.
