Henry V: Poetry: Sword and shield

  • Feb. 10th, 2016 at 11:53 PM
Title: Sword and shield
Fandom: Henry V
Notes: Fighting.
Rating: G
Summary: too short to need one
Length: 50 words
Badges: Lightning strike.

The weight of armour
Unfamiliar on shoulders
Preparing for war.

A whisper of steel
Against baser metal, then
Cutting through air.

Sword against sword
One drops to the ground and then
A two-handed dragon.

I hold up my shield
The only weapon I have
Nothing to lose now.

Metal biting flesh
The dragon sways and then falls,
He is dead, I'm not.
