You know, I just watched this movie last night. (And had one of those "aha!" moments about the ending. When I first saw it, I was sure that last lingering shot of hte top was a "is it real? Isn't it real?" and I figured it started to wobble so therefore real. Whereas watching again, I realised the importance of the shot wasn't about reality, but about Dom's belief in reality. It's the first time we see him spin the top and not wait for that external confirmation. Post-catharsis, he has belief, he focuses on what's important to him -- seeing to his kids -- rather than questioning himself.)
I like the ambiguity of the ending, but have always leaned toward "reality" as the answer. Very good point about Dom not waiting for confirmation!
