"Time to pay up, Major!"

Shepard's eyes are dancing and he's having a very hard time keeping his mouth from breaking into a smile.

"I guess you won that side-bet fair and square, Shepard. Pretty damn clever, betting that Joker might actually win a game of poker against James. What are the odds of that...?"

He pulls me close and begins unfastening my uniform, belt first, letting the pants fall around my ankles. "I was actually betting on you... didn't you say you were going to give him some poker tips?"

His hands are under my shirt now, pushing it up. I'm not going to complain about the attention and lift my arms to make it easier for him. He's in no hurry though, having paused to tease both nipples into hardness with fingers and lips. "I don't know if the tips helped as much as the whiskey. James was way ahead of Joker on shots. Might have had an effect."

"Mmm, you're the one having an effect, Kaidan. Damn, you look good."

Shepard's eyes are darkening from teasing into need and his voice is taking on that irresistible tone - a husky combination of a purr and a growl.

"I'm changing the terms of the bet. I thought I'd like to watch you cook up some Canadian delicacies in your birthday suit... But there's only one Canadian delicacy I'm interested in right now."

Wrapping my arms around him, I let the biotics flare as I draw him to the bed, murmuring. "And how would you like me?"

Stripping out of his own clothes without ever fully breaking contact with me, his reply seems to require no thought. "All ways, Kaidan... the night is young."

Something in the way he looks at me adds another meaning to his words. 'Always.'
