Standing on the Opera House stage was very different when it was empty, Celes thought. She could still hear music echoing in her ears.

“This is where you sang? I don’t know how you did it, Celes.” Terra looked out over the empty orchestra pit, into the endless rows of seats. “I would’ve fallen apart.”

“You underestimate yourself.” Celes pointed at the lights. “It’s easier when those are on. You can’t see the crowds.”

“Did the others sing too?”

“No.” She had to smile. “They were busy chasing an octopus through the rafters.”

Terra burst into bright peals of laughter.
