Title: Desolation Beauty

Artist notes: Done with a variety of media: waterproof ink, colored pencil, and both water-based and alcohol-based markers on cheap, regular printer paper (my favorite for marker work). Features my elementalist player character.
Summary: No matter where he goes in Tyria, Lucius is always beautiful. His choice in clothing can be a little ridiculous, though.





This took about four days total: two to get the sketch done and two to get everything colored in. Marker is so much faster than colored pencil but I have a terrible time getting more muted tones. Everything except his skin and hair had to have multiple washes of various shades of gray and much of the blue is still a tad too bright. I have never found a very pale skintone marker that I like (Prismacolor, Copic, or otherwise), so I used pencils for everything but the deepest shadowing on his face and neck.

Total materials used were 2 Faber-Castell PITT waterproof brush pens, 2 Prismacolor colored pencils, 2 Copic alcohol-based markers, and 19 Prismacolor water-based markers.

This is actually the Guild Wars 2 incarnation of this character. My cast of player characters like to make themselves known in every MMO I play.
