Delenn had always been proud to be Minbari of the Religious caste, prouder still as one of the Grey Council, the chosen of Dukhat. It had been a great honor to serve her people as Satai, and she had done so for sixteen cycles. Being rejected and cast from her place had saddened her, but she had accepted it because it allowed her to return to Babylon 5 and continue her work there. After all, there was much needing to be done in preparation for the coming war.

Never before, not even when being treated as an outcast, had she been truly ashamed of the people with whom she had served with such dedication, but now she was. Their pride, their presumption, their doubt, had led them to ignore the signs that the prophecy of a thousand years before was coming to pass. They had lost faith, and that was a shameful thing.

Valen created the Grey Council to guide his people, so they would be ready when this day came, and they had failed him, and yet perhaps that too was a part of the prophecy. They had broken their covenant, and now the Council itself must be broken.
