G’Kar had written his book, which was as yet unfinished, primarily for himself; it had been entirely personal, a record of his struggle to understand not just himself, but his people, their place in the universe, and the universe as a whole. He had not intended to pass it around to all and sundry, certainly had not expected it to be widely read, and now Ta’Lon, his good friend, was telling him that not only had he liberated the book while G’Kar was on the Centauri homeworld, acting as Mollari’s bodyguard, but that the book had been copied, and then printed…

Several hundred thousand copies now existed, Narn everywhere were reading it, and worse, now they were coming to Babylon 5, wanting to talk with him, to LEARN from him… But what did he have to teach them? He was no prophet, had no desire for power, had turned down the honor of leading his people because he simply didn’t consider himself equal to that task, but now they were treating him as a religious icon! It was… alarming. He had every reason to want to hide.

And yet Ta’Lon thought he should embrace the opportunity, that his mind was his greatest gift and he should share his wisdom, for the betterment of all Narn. It was just that the responsibility was so great! What if they would not hear what he had to say, or worse, what if they DID hear, but took the wrong lessons from his words?

There were things he understood now that he hadn’t understood when he first began writing, years previously. It would be so easy for his words to be misinterpreted, or taken out of context, and there was still so much he did not yet understand himself. It could be a disaster!
