After being introduced to Gwent, Geralt wins his first game. It must have been beginner's luck, because he loses the rest of the night. That only fuels him further though, as he learns to strategize with the cards in his hand. He travels looking for Ciri, on a quest to protect her from the Wild Hunt. But he also keeps playing Gwent and goes on side quests to collect more cards. Ciri has been on her own a long time; she can look after herself. Geralt will make it to her before the spectral riders, or so he tells himself.
