It was the perfect day for a drive, John thought as his car glided effortlessly across the moor. Even if there was a body waiting for them at the other end. He glanced sideways at George, drinking in the sight of the man seated next to him. Two nights ago they'd made love for the first time and John was still enjoying the afterglow.

"Look where you're going."

The command made John refocus his attention back onto the road. An entire flock of sheep was now spread across it. John stamped on the brake and brought his little car to a shuddering halt.

"They're in the way." John moved his hand across to the horn. He'd soon get those sheep to move.

"Don't you dare beep your horn." Another command delivered in George's most authoritative tone. "You'll scare them half to death."

"Then what should I do?" John couldn't help but feel slightly aggrieved. George it seemed was, unlike him, very firmly in work mode.

"You'll have to herd them off the road. And don't take all day about it. We've got a body waiting for us." George raised an eyebrow at John who scrambled for the door handle.

"I'm not likely to forget that, am I?"

Out of the car he surveyed the situation. "George thinks I'm a bloody shepherd." He waved his arms, tentatively at first, and said, "Shoo."

Luckily he was facing away from the car and so didn't see the smile on George's face.

"Shoo!" He shouted the word more loudly and strode forward as though he was advancing on a suspect. "Go on. Get out of here." The sheep scattered.

"Was that so hard?" George asked as John climbed back into the car.

John glanced over at George. "And you couldn't have helped me because..."

"I enjoyed watching."

"You enjoyed watching?" John turned the key in the ignition.

"Yes." George laid a hand on John's leg and squeezed. "I enjoyed watching."
