Ariadne - Jennifer Saint: fanfic: undutiful

  • Apr. 9th, 2026 at 10:55 PM
Title: undutiful
Fandom: Ariadne by Jennifer Saint (mods, please use the generic book tag)
Content notes: I've only read the first two chapters so far, and I doubt if it goes this way. But I want it to.
Challenge: Beam
Length: 100 words

Summary: Ariadne has the sun's blood in her veins. It won't be enough to save her.

Her father’s story haunted her. The girl who loved him, the girl he drowned in chains. The undutiful daughter who became his vengeance.

Her father had angered the gods again and again with his hubris; nothing Ariadne could do would change his fate. Her choices were constrained: like her mother, she would be stained by his doom.

She eyed the Athenian prince -- proud, cocksure Theseus -- and thought, I could be undutiful. Drown herself in his green eyes and give him what he needed to destroy her family.

It wouldn’t save her, but... perhaps it would be enough to save her sister.
