Molly fanned herself as she got out of her car. The heat was enough to make her want to move north. Just north enough to not have to deal with heat like that for too long. Winters that were long and cold, with snow on the ground for most of it. She didn't want to leave her father, though, and that was the big thing.

She headed into the building, and she was getting onto the elevator when she heard a small shout. She looked out to see a guy running at her. She held the door open using the button and was glad when it was just him who got onto the elevator with her. She hit the button to go where she needed to go and was glad when the air started to cool her down. She took a few seconds to look at the man. She knew him, but she wasn't sure where she knew him from. She looked at first, he hadn't found his soulmate, which was odd for people their age, but Molly knew that she was part of it. She had tried for a long time, but finally just decided that she would either find them or she wouldn't. The placement of her mark was over her heart, which meant that she had found her soulmate in her last life.

When soulmates were bound together, the other person's mark would appear on their wrist, a call to make sure that it was known that they were bound. Even her father had one on his wrist still, the mark faded to know that he had lost them.

"What floor?" Molly asked after too long a pause.

"Seventh. Thanks."

Molly hit the button because it was the floor she needed as well. Then the elevator started to rise, and then it stopped. Molly moved to make room, but the doors never opened. The elevator was just...stuck. She frowned and hit the door open button, but the doors stayed shut. She hit the button again and then the floor button. Nothing was happening. They were just stuck.

"Um, that's not good," the guy said.

"Yeah, I know it's not." She was reaching for the call button when the little speaker crackled to life.

"Is anyone there?" a woman's voice asked.

"Yes, there are two of us in this elevator."

"The floor above called the switchboard and said that the doors on their end opened, and the car was stuck between floors. We have already called the elevator company as well as the LAFD to get you out in case there is no way of getting the car up or down to where you can get out yourself."

"Do you know what station is coming?" the guy asked.

"No," the woman said. "Please press the call button if you need anything. Do try to stay still in there; no jumping. We aren't sure what the issue is and don't want to stress the system."

"We won't," Molly said. She looked at the guy, and he headed to the other side of the car before she settled down on the floor, his legs stretched out. Molly noticed the guy who was at his side, hidden by his jacket. Then the flash of a badge near it. She looked at his face again. "Rocker?"

"Yeah?" Rocker said.

"Molly Hicks."

"Oh, wow, I haven't seen you in a few years. How have you been?" Rocker asked. He looked like he wasn't upset to be stuck with his boss's daughter in an elevator.

"Good. Busy with work."

"I know that one well."

The elevator jerked a little bit, and Rocker seemed to be on edge now. He looked around, but Molly had no idea what he was looking for. She waited, and then he waved her over to him. She frowned but moved over to him. Her hand slipped on the floor because it was a little sweaty from stress, and it slid all the way over to him, her hand touching his, and she felt it. She felt the spark and the pulse through her. She looked at him to see his reaction, but it was just like hers. Shock

"I am not telling your father, you are," Rocker said.

"It's Donovan, right?"

"Yes, but Donny to my friends. Donovan is only at work when a full name is needed."

"Donny." Molly waited to see what he was going to do, but it seemed that it was nothing, so she took matters into her own hands and moved to straddle his thighs and sat down on them, pinning him into place.

Donny laughed a little bit before she caught her knees and pulled her a little closer. It wasn't sexual, but there was something intimate about sitting on him like that. "I wanted you over here because I noticed the car is listing a little, and it was your way, keeping weight on this side will keep us from falling. At least there is no basement, so if the elevator gives out, it's just not the little nook down there for the car to go into. So like that? fifteen feet of a drop? It's not good feel good, but it's better than being higher up."

Molly nodded, and she looked down at his mouth. She wanted to kiss him because she had been looking for her soulmate for a long time, and she needed to know what he tasted like. She leaned in, and he cupped the back of her head to draw her into the kiss at the same time. It went from zero to making out in no time, and Molly knew that she was getting wet. She wanted to melt into him and just take everything that he could give her, but they were trapped in an elevator, and there was every chance they were going to get caught.

"My place after this? Or yours?" Donny asked.

"I need to...call my father when we get out before he finds out," Molly said against Donny's lips.

"And then?"

"I have an apartment."

"I have a house."

"Then yours." Molly kissed him again, and she didn't stop herself this time, touching him everywhere she could on the outside of his clothes, and then up his neck and his head.

Donny touched too, keeping her close to him but not enough that she could feel his cock, which he kept back, which was fine because Molly was pretty sure that she was going to end up grinding on it if she got to touch him there.

The sound of wrenching metal had Molly slipping off his lap and trying to right herself as much as possible. There were a few seconds of nothing, and then the doors opened, and Molly looked up because the lower part was hidden.

"Oh, this is going to be fun," a man said.

"This is almost worse than Tommy being the one to work this," Donny said.

"Who is Tommy?" Molly asked as she got up and watched the firefighter bracing the doors open with something up above that she couldn't see.

Donny got up, and he ushered her over toward the door more, making sure that they were close by in case something happened. The firefighter was working on something.

"My twin brother. LAFD firefighter pilot, and this is his boyfriend, Evan Buckley, also LAFD but not a pilot."

"Yeah, you are not living this down. Finding your soulmate while trapped in an elevator and making out with her? Tommy's gonna hear about this as soon as I get you guys out. Can you lift her to me?" Evan's head appeared, and he held out his hand to Molly.

"Sure, no gear?"

"No, not really time."

"Ready?" Donny asked.

Molly nodded. Donny lifted her by her thighs, and it made her think about him fucking her against the wall. It wasn't going to be long before she was going to have him inside of her. She hoped that he didn't mind going raw because the idea of a condom on his cock while inside of her didn't sit well with her.

Evan caught her hands and pulled her up with ease. The elevator made a creaking noise, and before she was even pulled all the way out, Donny was jumping up and grabbing the floor to haul himself up. There were two other firefighters ready to help him get out. She knew that Donn was strong and everything, but that was something different. There was another creak, and then about a minute after, Donny was pulled free, when he was on the floor, breathing hard from the work of pulling himself out. It gave way, and the elevator crashed down to the floor below. It wasn't a horrible sound since it hadn't had far to fall, but it still was something that Molly never wanted to live through again.

"Like I said, no time. I needed those doors braced open to make sure that they didn't shut on you guys, but yeah. The cords holding the elevator up were not doing well. My captain is going to put in a word about the state of the thing. It's not been checked in a while, so maybe think about getting a little out of this and sue."

"I'm not suing anyone," Donny said.

"I will," Molly said.

"Hen and Chim will check you out, and then you will be free to go. I would go home, though, because not giving in is going to be torture."

"You and Tommy are soulmates?" Molly asked.

"Yeah, found out before having Tommy fly us into danger. It was the best and worst night of my life because I wasn't sure that we were going to live since we were flying into a hurricane."

Molly felt like she was going to be bonding with someone who was into the danger of it all. If the twins were anything to go by, LAFD firefighter pilot and LAPD SWAT. They lived for danger. Molly didn't live for it, but she knew what her father had gone through working the job he did. Now she was going to be the one waiting at home, but maybe she would have company in the form of Donny's brother and his soulmate.

"He lives next door to us," Evan said helpfully.

Molly laughed, and she looked at Donny. She could take it.

The End
