Not so long ago, Garibaldi was a member of Babylon 5’s command staff. Now here he was, on the outside looking in. It had been his own choice, he knew that, it had been something he’d felt he had to do because Sheridan was… different since he’d come back from Z’ha’dum, thought he was the second coming or something. Whatever. Before, Garibaldi would have trusted the guy with his life, but now… No. No way.

He couldn’t work for, or alongside, someone he couldn’t trust, someone who had some agenda Garibaldi wasn’t in on. That was too much to expect of him, so he’d quit, gone his own way, and it was working out okay. He had plenty of contacts, so setting himself up in the business of finding lost people and objects, yeah, that was something he could do, something he was good at, and it was something, reuniting people with lost loved ones. He liked that he could bring some happiness to folk in the middle of all the chaos. He was doing something worthwhile, and yet…

He'd been part of something before, something so much bigger than himself, and now he wasn’t. The people he’d once considered his friends, almost as close as family, mostly avoided him these days, unless it was to get in his face over some infraction of the rules. Like Zack earlier, giving him the third degree over the package he was handling for Edgars.

Garibaldi would’ve thought Zack would be more sympathetic, given him the benefit of the doubt, after everything he’d done for the man, but no such luck. Why couldn’t Zack just give it a rest, get off his case, let him run his own life without giving him grief over every little thing?

Maybe Garibaldi was better off alone.

Such a sad period in the series. Everything that had built and grown together over those years, gradually crumbling away.

I know, and it's only going to get worse, but it's not Garibaldi's fault, he's being manipulated.

Thank you!
