Cowley doesn't have favourites. He is not that sort of boss. He treats all of his agents equally and he knows they respect him for it. They know he will treat them fairly and when, on the very odd occasion, he has to do something underhand, when he has to lie to his people, he knows they will accept it as being part of the job they signed up for.

So no, Cowley doesn't have favourites but of all the favourites he doesn't have, it is Bodie he keeps the closest eye on. In situations like this well let's just say that if it had been any other agent he would have pulled them up short a long time ago.

He is ashamed to say that his over indulgence very nearly resulted in serious consequences for CI5 and himself. But there is no point in crying over spilt milk and in the end Bodie demonstrated that he was right. One day Cowley knows he will have to retire Bodie as an active agent but perhaps he will be able to find Bodie other things to do. Other agents come and go but Bodie is special.

One day in the future Cowley himself will have to step back and another boss will have to be found. Cowley hasn't spoken to anyone about this but he is hopeful that person might end up being Bodie.
