Travelling together for so long, with no one else they could rely on for help, the five mismatched travellers had come to feel more like family than strangers thrown together by circumstance and necessity. Some of their number would grumble and grouse, pick arguments, and generally squabble like children, even though only one of their number could legitimately claim that excuse, but they rallied around each other in the face of danger, and no matter how much they might at times disagree, they had each other’s backs.

In the course of their normal lives, they would have never even met, coming from different times as they did, and in one case, a different planet, but despite their differences, they’d become closer to each other than to almost anyone they’d ever known.

Their journey wasn’t an easy one, and by themselves none of them could have coped with all the trials along the way, but as a group they had each other to lean on, and that made all the difference.

Some of their number had family waiting for them back in their own time, and hopefully would get back home, but as long as they lived, they’d never forget each other.
