The first time Fantasio visited my home after discovering I was a vampire, he asked me why I had a normal full bed and not a coffin. My initial response was to laugh. I'll be honest, I do find the stereotype silly. Vampires can be severely weakened or damaged by the sun but we won't explode into smithereens the moment the rays touch us. I explained that most of us prefer beds since they make us feel more "human." Nearly all of us were human once. It's what we know--er, knew.

I didn't tell him the other reason, though. If I do tell him I'm not telling him anytime soon. When you've nearly worn your fingers to bone and inhaled dirt into your lungs while frantically and blindly escaping an already musty coffin and six feet of earth, you want to stay as much away from them as possible.
