When Buffy and Dawn returned from their day at the spa, they didn’t expect to find Spike sitting on the floor, covered in glitter and water-transfer tattoos of barn animals, a tiara askew in his bleached curls.
“Gosh, what happened?” asked Buffy, dropping her bag to check on her husband.
“Our niece happened,” he grumbled.
Dawn walked up to them, her arms crossed and an amused grin on her face. “We’re away for less than twenty-four hours and you let a toddler overpower you?”
“She wanted to play princesses and threw a bloody tantrum when Xander and I said no!”

“So you just let her walk all over you?” asked Dawn, planting her hands on her hips. “When children throw a temper tantrum, giving in to their demands is the last thing to do! That’s like… parenting 101!”
Spike glared at her. “Well, I’m just her uncle. Xander is her other parent and he got the same treatment.”
Dawn let out a sigh. “Where are they?”
“Joyce needed to go potty.”
“Now she’ll think that tantrums will get her what she wants,” Dawn complained, turning to Buffy. “I told you that leaving her with these two wasn’t a good idea.”
