Hope loves the University of Washington's colors, purple and gold, but Stanford red comes close. Her girlfriend has become a very important part of her life, and Hope enjoys supporting her. Kelley's Stanford hat sits proudly next to her own UW Huskies hat, and Hope wears it increasingly often. When she doesn't want to be recognized, she puts on her girlfriend's hat instead of her own. And she wears it on walks with Kelley to feel closer.

Kelley loves teasing Hope about her romantic pride. When she returns from a trip, Kelley runs up to Hope and hugs her tightly. She also takes the red hat off of Hope's head and puts it on herself, emphasizing it is hers and Hope should get her own.
